The actual aboriginal screens became added than just a agency of aloofness or beauty. Like scrolls, they kept afore the eyes the moral sayings and quotations of abundant men. The Coromandel screens were lacquered and busy with designs which cut through the bark into the wood. The spaces were again abounding with blubbery blurred baptize colors. These screens came to be alleged Coromandel screens not because of the way they were busy but because they were alien for re-export from the Coromandel Coast of South India. (more…)
